AKA - (Six acres and not a clue!) My personal diary of the comings and goings of wildlife during the development of my little piece of England. '...There shall be in that rich earth a richer dust concealed; A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware, Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam; A body of England’s, breathing English air, Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home.' Another LBF First: Treecreeper - Certhia familiaris
It has taken me four years to find one of these beauties at Longbeach Farm, but when it showed itself, it wasn't at all shy! I first saw it on an ash tree in the woods, but I had my macro lens on the camera but I was happy to have got a couple of distant pictures; I quickly walked back to the house to get the 'big lens' and luckily the bird was still willing to be photpgraphed when I returned, these are some of the better pictures taken. The bird freely moved from oak to oak, picking out the insects as it hunted up the trunks and along branches, often hanging completey upside down.
Now I need to find a Nuthatch which is also on my wish list and as yet remains elusive!
