On Saturday a friend visited LBF and spent a few hours snapping pics with her new Canon Camera - Here we go!

Soft focus Iris

Buff-tailed Bumble Bee or Garden Bumble Bee (TBC)

Common Blue Damselfly (Enallagma cyathigerum) or Azure... TBC!

The aptly named 'Swollen-thighed' Beetle - Oedemera nobilis

Not 100% sure but think this is a 'click beetle' of sorts... Suggested Athous Haemorrhoidalis (which sounds painful!)

A Facinated Oxeye Daisy!

 


Well I never... Apparently this us what is known as a 'Facinated' flower. It's a quite rare event caused by a number of possible causes including, genetics, virus or fungal infection etc.  In a field of tens of thousands of daisies I was lucky to spot this unique bloom.
